The FBI thanks you for a job well done and wishes you well in your future endeavors.”

"Special Federal Officer (SFO) Mike Chapdelaine of the Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force deserves special recognition for his contributions to the successful investigation of the December 21, 1999 fatal shooting of Holyoke Police officer John DiNapoli.I understand SFO Chapdelaine and his associates on the Task Force possess unique intelligence and a wide variety of sources which proved extremely beneficial in this investigation. They located a crucial witness and ranking member of the Almighty Latin King Nation, who provided the weapon used by the shooter. SFO Chapdelaine assisted in numerous building searches, helped to identify three individuals who transported the suspect out of the area, and identified a cellular telephone which led authorities directly to the suspect. You can take pride in knowing that one of your officers is indeed a most valuable member of the Task Force, and my colleagues look forward to working closely with him on other matters of mutual interest."
David MeePresident Massachusetts Police Association
"Community Service Award "In recognition of your outstanding devotion to duty and your unselfish professional actions as a member of the Western Mass Gang Task Force""
Barry W. MawnSpecial Agent in Charge, Boston Division, United States Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation
"I would like to take this opportunity to commend the members of the West Springfield Police Department assigned to our FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force in Springfield Massachusetts, for their outstanding investigation of the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation. This joint investigation successfully targeted the hierarchy of the ALKQN and associates of the Springfield Chapter. As you know, the GTF is a multi-agency task force concept which has, and continues to be, very successful in targeting the violent street gangs. The tenacity and investigative skills exhibited by the GTF have, for the time, left the ALKQN in disarray. Their leaders,…have all been indicted for a variety of serious federal and state charges which will surely result in lengthy terms of incarceration. For approximately the last four years, the GTF has had over 400 gang related arrests. Supervisory Special Agent Clifford W. Hedges has informed me on numerous occasions of the fine work conducted by Officer Michael D. Chapdelaine. Please extend my thanks for a job well done to this officer and also to his supervisor for providing the necessary manpower, as well as support…"
